Good Afternoon Bluesky!

My Next Capture for this Glorious Saturday Features a Beautiful Red Rose Flower that I Captured on Thursday While on My Daily Walk
It was Captured on My Canon EOS R50!

🌱 #NaturePhotography #PhotographersOfBluesky #PlantSky #UkGardening #Bloomscrolling #Flower #CanonR50

This photograph shows a close-up, outdoor shot of vibrant red rose blooms set against lush green foliage:
Primary Blooms: There are two main bright red roses featured vertically:
Top Rose: Positioned higher in the frame and angled slightly upward, fully bathed in natural sunlight. Its soft, velvety petals cup outward around a loose central core.
Bottom Rose: Positioned slightly lower in the center foreground, presenting a full, rounded blossom viewed almost straight-on.
Buds & Additional Flowers: To the top-left of the main upper rose, a small green rose bud sits atop a slender stem. A partially obscured red rose is also visible further in the background on the left.
Stems & Foliage: The rose bush stem is dotted with small reddish thorns. Serrated green leaflets emerge around the main stems, surrounded by a dense, softly blurred background of garden foliage and dappled sunlight.

Good Morning Bluesky Folks

Another early start today as I’ll be busy cutting my neighbour’s hedge. My first capture is a beautiful orange garden dahlia flower i captured on my Canon EOS R50!

🌱 #NaturePhotography #PhotographersOfBluesky #PlantSky #UkGardening #Bloomscrolling #Flower #CanonR50

This photograph features a single, vibrant dahlia bloom in close-up:
Petal Colors & Pattern: The broad, overlapping petals display a rich gradient, transitioning from a reddish-coral hue near the center to a warm orange and soft golden-yellow toward the outer edges. Fine linear textures run vertically along each petal.
Center: The floral center (disc florets) is dark reddish-maroon with bright yellow-orange stamens popping out around the rim.
Details: Small water droplets are scattered across several petals, catching the sunlight and giving them a glistening finish.
Foliage & Background: The flower rests against dark, shadowy green-to-bronze foliage, with thin, dry blades of grass interwoven around the base.

Good Afternoon Bluesky Folks

Yesterday while on a walk I came across a beautiful Pot Marigold Flower and Captured it with my Canon EOS R50!

🌱 #NaturePhotography #PhotographersOfBluesky #PlantSky #UkGardening #Bloomscrolling #Flower #CanonR50

This close-up photo features a vibrant pot marigold (Calendula officinalis) bloom against a dark, moody background.
Key Details of the Image:
The Flower: The blossom stands out prominently with its rich, bright orange petals arranged in multiple layered rings around a textured, yellow-orange central disc.
Petal Texture: The individual ray florets have slightly notched edges, giving the bloom a soft, classic daisy-like silhouette.
Stem & Leaves: A green stem and small leaf calyx support the flowerhead, extending toward the bottom right corner.
Background: The background is deeply shadowed and muted, with dark soil and soft-focus foliage, which creates a strong contrast and makes the vibrant orange flower pop.

Good Morning Blusky Folks!

My first capture features a beautiful cluster of purple crocuses growing in my neighbour’s grass. I took it with my Canon EOS R50.

🌱 #NaturePhotography #PhotographersOfBluesky #PlantSky #UkGardening #Bloomscrolling #Flower #CanonR50

This photograph shows a cluster of purple crocuses (or saffron crocuses / autumn crocuses) blooming outdoors:
Flowers: There are five main open blooms in a vibrant shade of violet/purple with fine, darker vein patterns running along their petals. Each flower features prominent, bright orange-yellow stamens/stigmas in the center that create a strong color contrast against the purple petals.
Stems & Foliage: The flowers grow on slender greenish-yellow stems sprouting directly from the ground amidst blades of green grass and dry, mossy lawn.
Lighting: The photo is lit by natural sunlight from an angle, casting soft shadows on the soil and grass behind the blossoms.

Happy Friday 🌞

I is for Iris.

I had a better year, this year, growing Iris's. When in full bloom, they are such a gorgeous flower.

My favourite is definitely the yellow and white Iris variety called 'Symphony'.

Our species rich lawns took quite a battering during the summer drought, but after today’s mowing it’s good to see those species plants coming back. #Lawns

More hedge cutting, including making sure the height is uniform around #GrosvenorSquare. So it’s time to create a height stick that can be used measure height at any point. An old but simple trick.

Good morning Bluesky Folks!

Yesterday I took another photo of the same red rose I shared yesterday. It was taken with my iPhone 17 Pro!

🌱 #NaturePhotography #PhotographersOfBluesky #PlantSky #UkGardening #Bloomscrolling #Flower #iphone17pro

This photo features a vibrant red rose in full bloom, serving as the central focus of the image.
Key Details:
The Flower: The rose has rich, deep red, velvety petals layered closely together, forming a lush, classic cup shape. The center of the bloom reveals a small, brownish cluster of stamens.
Foliage: Surrounding the flower are several deep green leaves with serrated edges and subtle veining. A few small thorns and stems are visible beneath and beside the flower head.
Background: The background consists of dark, earthy soil around the base of the plant, with dry, light-colored dirt and sparse patches of grass higher up in the frame. In the top-left, a few smaller red blossoms from the same bush are softly out of focus.
