Wonderful! It's always a blast when #TCMParty and #TheNoirCollective come together. LURED is a natural area of overlap as a noirish thriller that was Lucy's follow-up to THE DARK CORNER which I hosted for a TNC Wednesday watch party last month.

If the file is large enough (and The Unsuspected sure was), the earlier you DL it the better. #TheNoirCollective usually shares the link on Monday, so I'd recommend saving the file then. That way if something goes wrong you have plenty of time to try again without missing the party.😊

Certainly recommended. I keep all of mine on an external HD but you can certainly delete after the live watch to save space.

Funny watching this after #TheUnsuspected last night with #TheNoirCollective. 🫣

Yes! But in what order? 🤔📽️
#TheNoirCollective

On the contrary, we're all film nerds here, after all, and being exposed to ancillary nerddoms is one of the joys of a watch party! I can make out about 5% of what @ad6g.bsky.social is saying, and I am thrilled to have read it and grateful for your translation. 🤩

Are Lucille Ball and George Sanders a match made in heaven or hell?

Find out at the live watch party of LURED (1947) airing on TCM at 2PM ET, co-hosted by @tcmparty.bsky.social and myself.

Oh I love this! Never heard that before. He’s a favorite director. #TheNoirCollective

William Dieterle said of his time at Warners: “If a director wasn't fast enough, they replaced him, usually with Mike Curtiz. He could finish a film at 11 am and start a new one at 1 pm.” Even if he was given no time to prepare, “he had such an instinct for film, he could do it.” #TheNoirCollective

Same! And it is so fun because it's a small detail, and yet Curtiz included it. I adore this level of easter egg. #TheNoirCollective #TheUnsuspected

OK, this may be my single favorite piece of trivia from the watch party. So obvious when you think about it – but it never would’ve occurred to me. 😅😅 #TheNoirCollective #TheUnsuspected

I've never seen this movie before, and I am so excited that you'll be hosting my first viewing of it.

#Nightfall #TheNoirCollective

NEXT WED at #TheNoirCollective:

Six characters in search of stolen cash, peace of mind, romance and the truth.

@willmckinley.bsky.social is hosting NIGHTFALL (1956), with a pitch-perfect cast – headed by Aldo Ray and Anne Bancroft – weaving an unforgettable tale of urban paranoia. Don’t miss it!

I wish you would have! Terrific #noircheology!

#TheUnsuspected

Just please know that I had the good graces not to inflict such nerddity upon the chat during the film.
#TheNoirCollective

Some unwarranted trivia; a couple of shortwave receivers from the glory days of the Hallicrafters company in #TheUnsuspected. One of them their top of the line flagship SW radio, the other looks like a mock up I've never seen elsewhere.

I thought you were calling for justice over the Hawaii 5-0 episode! 😂
Absolutely! She deserved WAY more to do that would build her more deeply into the plot. #TheUnsuspected #TheNoirCollective

Right, that. Got it!
