Today over to St Agnes for a Red-eyed Vireo; no such luck but privileged to see Bob Dawson's Scar Bank Gem. #TeamMoth

Last night’s trap was very empty, with just singles of Large Wainscot & SMW for interest on external surfaces.
However on the large egg tray wedged behind the trap was this very smart Monopis sp. I’ll need to check the colour of the hindwings, as crocicapitella is still a rarity here.

After a unseasonaly warm day in Hunstanton (22C) it's already a lot better around the trap tonight. Unfortunately the early cloud has gone, but the wind has eased - LBAM 5, Monopis crocicapitella, Large YU, Least Carpet and Red-line Quaker so far. #TeamMoth

@ruthnewby.bsky.social I was wrong there was a Vestal! One of the Phyllonorycter looks like it might be the dark form of Lyonetia clerkella (which I never knew existed) though it won’t settle for a proper photo #teammoth

It may have been a weekday but a warm, humid, and still night was too good not to set the trap out. Rewarded with 109 moths of 34 species, the biggest catch since mid-September. Barred Sallow, Green-brindled Crescent and Barred Red were all new for the year.
