Yesterday with @janettem34.bsky.social while failing to find the rare moss Cinclodotus riparius in a very silty algae filled R Teme in Ludlow we did enjoy good views of a sub-singing Dipper and 2+ Kingfishers. #shropshirebirding

Dipper lurking under shady branches by the River Tene showing its white bib and also white nictitating membrane that it deploys underwater. I think that's what it is anywayShowy Kingfisher also near the River in Ludlow. It was being watched by quite a few people and was evidently used to an audience

This delightful adult Baird's Sand was a great find for a friend on a farm pond local to where I grew up yesterday, and it did the decent thing by remaining until I was passing today. Only 200m outside #shropshirebirding... #ukbirding

The departure of the Swallows and the return of the Meadow Pipits. Observations added to @birdtrack.bsky.social as "complete lists" through the app or browser version help us to map seasonal changes such as this. It's a nice, mindful way to feel connected to time and place!
