Autumn Announced #ShareMondays2026 #FoxOfTheDay

I had a warm welcome back from our trip away when I visited the #foxes in their beautiful #urban #greenspace last week 😊🦊 #wildlife #nature @ldnwildlifetrust.bsky.social @rbgkew.bsky.social @chrisgpackham.bsky.social @protectthewild.bsky.social

This wildlife photograph captures a male red fox sitting in a grassy clearing, looking directly towards the camera. His russet-orange coat contrasts with the silvery-grey fur covering the throat, chest and muzzle, while the dark markings around his eyes and nose add definition to the face. His ears are pricked and his gaze is steady, suggesting an alert animal that remains watchful of its surroundings.

Positioned almost centrally within the frame, the fox is the clear focal point of the composition. The frontal viewpoint provides a detailed view of its facial features and thickening winter coat. The upright posture and seemingly relaxed expression give the photograph a sense of quiet confidence, while the slight curve of his mouth lending an almost knowing look.

I have a choice for this week's competition and so I have opted for this little harvest mouse for #Sharemondays2026

A harvest mouse sitting on a single ear of Barley. A captive mouse looked after by its caring photographer breeder. Cute little creature and although captive you still need a bucket of patience and just an element of good fortune to get an image which works.

Mostly all I have been taking over the last weeks, last week was the first time, I found some growing on sticks, this year. Was able to prop it in a clamp off the ground. Fungi is so amazing, it makes me give thanks, everytime, I find some.
