Looking lovely yesterday, was this gorgeous Teasel silhouetted against the evening sky. 😍

The top was missing on one, providing a great opportunity to inspect the internal structure of these prickly #seedheads. Turns out they are hollow in the middle & form a lovely radial pattern.

For the #wildflowerhour challenge a couple of weeks ago, I was very taken with the #seedheads of Agrimony.

On Thursday they caught my eye again. Now deep red to brown - still beautiful but the dry brown ones are now ready to travel and these hooked burrs seem particularly attracted to my socks! 😂

A mega late picture for #Wildflowerhour for the #Seedheads thread .The humble Dandelion.

A week late for the #seedheads #wildflowerhour challenge, but I spotted these awesome Agrimony spikes whilst doing my butterfly transect and they are too fab not to share. 😍
How have I not noticed these before?! 🫣

A late entry for #WildFlowerHour #SeedHeads - broad-leaved helleborine at Coulter’s Dean today

#wildflowerhour #seedheads went down to South Norwood country park and found hogweed and teasels looking very atmospheric

I missed that it was #SeedHeads for #wildflowerhour on Sunday. But here’s a botanical challenge for you. Anglesey. What is it? @bsbibotany.bsky.social @wildflowerhour.bsky.social
