Floating in the salt of the sea, Rey soaks up the sensation of the sun.
“Ms. Niima.”
At the call of her trusted lawyer, she reluctantly emerges from the sea.
“Ben. I’ve told you, it’s ‘Rey’.”
He merely smiles, wrapping a massive towel around her nude body, eyes on hers.
“Yes, Ms. Niima.”

Right. Grabbing a towel she watches him focus hard on her forehead.
“Sorry. Tan lines.”

Her protectee glances up from where he’s sprawled in a too-small chair—right where she’d sat him.
“It’s a figure of speech, Rey—Agent Niima.”
A shrug.
“Still. They’re dead, not tardy.”
“That really what you want to talk about?”
Not exactly.
“Why did you kill your father?”

Even as the scene fades, Rey pleads with her guide.
“Not that night. Please.”
Not the night of the fire. Not the night Luke gave into fear. Not the night Ben lost everything, including himself.
They go elsewhere.
