I carved Jason's mask in 2015. I went for "relic version" as the kids say in guitar-speak these days: grungy, beaten up.

I did Mike recently. I'll likely do Freddy this year.

I like the second #Fridaythe13th the best. Jason 3D was a drop-off.

Here's my first pumpkin carve of the year: the Mindflayer from Stranger Things.

Check out the thread below to see how I carved it.

This is the kind of analogy I'm looking for with techbros!

And unlike the movies, the techbros are staying evil in our timeline.

In truth, Vader should've stayed evil as well. I'm still salty about that decades later.

Me from 2021 #PumpkinCarvingFriday

BTW, I start #pumpkincarving tomorrow!

Why was it stressful? Who was I trying to impress?

My grand-daughter of course! Snow White was the only movie that got her attention beside this one...

Also from 2022 - a much blinged up version of my 2014 Elsa carve.

She wants to carve Squirdle for her 2nd year of carving.
#PumpkinCarvingFriday

And before the apple was bitten...

If this looks easy, it really wasn't. A stressful carve. I actually spent serious time studying how the dwarves were drawn - shared conventions and all.

Also, I had to make a rounded pumpkin appear to be inverted - hence the wall lines.
#PumpkinCarvingFriday

Nice! I may do a Celtics knit thing this year. The closest I've gotten is MC Escher.
#PumpkinCarvingFriday

Got that one two. The iron pot looked so realistic in person!

From 2017.

Aww thanks! Compliments usually get more pumpkin carves. Here's a Shrek Mirror carve from 2024. I understand it was even in an earlier Disney movie as well!

I especially had fun with the smoke texture and the wee little snake carves in the outer-upper mirror.

#PumpkinCarvingFriday

I posted the wrong middle image of Ursula above. Here it is. #PumpkinCarvingFriday

Wow, It was actually 20 years ago I did Davey Jones.

This was one of the 1st times I used multi-colored LEDs for cut-thrus (looks like I stuck a multi-colored light in a 3D Dino carve in 2005).

It still looks pretty good, but I think I've probably gotten better since then...
#PumpkinCarvingFriday

Love it!

That looks carvable - on a pumpkin I mean (Halloween is on my mind...), although there's just not a Halloween theme.

I carved an Ursuula a decade ago and the Davy Jones Locker dude as a cut-through over 15 years ago.

Maybe a 3D version of Davey Jones this year...
#PumpkinCarvingFriday

I've carved three of those.

Coraline from 2009
The Thing from 2020
Face Hugger from 2024 and Alien head sculpt from 2012
#pumpkincarvingFriday

Yes, in real time with a Bob Ross style posting of photos here as I go. They usually turn out pretty well .

Fantasypumpkins.com for more. The best over the years are at the bottom.

Here's a Halo carve of mine from last October for good vibes.
#pumpkincarvingfriday

I carved that!
#pumpkincarvingFriday #HobbitDay

I got a few of those. From 2009 and 2021.

The Thing comes in second.
