My wife confirms that this is not autobiographical. I will put a reading in the comments.

COMMAND AND CONTROL

if all hypnosis is truly self-hypnosis
then why do i crow like a rooster at dawn
even when i don’t set an alarm
and raise my left leg at every fire hydrant
peeing my sweatpants
and barking at cats and squirrels
ever since that that tricky tray at the elks lodge

i try finger snaps and hand claps
and even humming ommm with my eyes closed
but i can’t shake the impulses
so i call the lodge and ask the exalted ruler
for the entertainer’s contact info
to see if they could break the spell
and the guy tells me there was no hypnotist

i’m tryna tell my wife about it
but she keeps playing with some pendant
i don’t remember seeing before
and she’s like honey relax
trust me he probably just forgot
now be a good boy and take out the trash
oh and don’t forget to wake me in the morning
I have a power breakfast at nine sharp
snap
