A #OnePlaceStudy resident’s birthplace which had me stumped for a long time was that of Thomas Payne, who appeared on the 1901 and 1911 censuses at Waters Upton. Eventually the 1921 census clarified that ‘Juckes Hill’ in Herefordshire was actually Deuxhill in Shropshire!
