Built upon a patch of cooled lava and black sand. Tarred with pitch to weather the harsh cold and snow.

Nate would be a sturdy little cottage with a thick wooden door, so albeit welcoming from the outside, you'd have to chip that door away bit by bit.
Eric would be a dark, elegant castle with the lights on and the drawbridge welcomingly down...

Nix would be a quiet island on the Mon river, on a night that you can actually see some of the stars.

Tara would be the roaring campfire on that island to keep everyone warm and entertained.

Tris would be the water lapping at the edge, calming everyone to sleep.

Aaron would be a heavily armed bastion

Tabby would be a warm oven at just the right temperature for anything you wanted in the coziest kitchen inside a flowery cottage

Megs would be a guinea pig sanctuary with vast lettuce fields & flowers

It's going exactly how you would expect with a bubbly personality doing directions and probably singing, the grump paddling who just wants quiet, and the playful kid asking a ton of questions and trying to steer them off path when she sees something cool.

Kellem would be one of those creepy looking forests that is actually something mundane like a wildlife preserve.

Rollan would be a dive bar with brick walls covered with sharpee graffiti, and the floors have seen better days, but they have craft beer and the best food in town.

Jack would be a library. A little imposing and grand with extremely tall shelves, but nice windows on one wall. Some dusty, cobwebbed tomes locked away in a spooky corner, with mysterious sigils on the covers. (Are there chanting voices coming from them?)
