Spearhead Mesa is a 5,998-foot-elevation formation in Monument Valley. The photo shows the sandstone spire that juts out from the end of the mesa, which also gives the mesa its name. The erosion from the mesa is visible around the bottom of the frame.

Last day of the road trip!

Started off with the scenery - and if you've seen Forrest Gump, this road might look familiar.

Then one last Utah photo before crossing into Arizona.

Utah really went all-out on its welcome sign. Arizona… not so much.

And after that, it was off to Monument Valley.

Even from the overlooks, this place was absolutely majestic. The scale of the landscape is hard to capture in a photo.
