Maniac Mansion started the whole point-and-click adventure genre in addition to coining the term ‘cut-scene’. It’s a game filed with dead ends, backwards puzzles & no-win situations. #ManiacMansion is a flawed game, but that’s what makes it so interesting

I'm so glad #ManiacMansion was fairly reasonably beatable in one session
But there was so much wrong with the Famicom version, like graphical quirks spoiling puzzles and hints being completely removed...

The NES version of #ManiacMansion did an early version of this. Each character began with a CD player in their inventory, and you'd TURN ON or TURN OFF the CD player to turn the background music on or off.
It was glorious.
