One from Cannon Beach. Tillamook Rock Lighthouse. She was deactivated in 1957 but remains an icon on the Oregon North Coast. Not a great photo as she sits 1.2 miles offshore.

The Lighthouse Board therefore tried to find a man to take the position while she continued performing the work herself.
After years of effectively running Robbins Reef, she finally received a permanent appointment as keeper.
After her husband died, Kate was left with two children and a lighthouse that still had to operate every night.
She assumed responsibility for the station. However, government regulations did not permit women to serve as principal keepers of offshore lighthouses.
Born in Germany, she immigrated to the United States. She eventually married lighthouse keeper John Walker, and the family moved to Robbins Reef, an offshore lighthouse standing on a dangerous underwater ledge about a mile from Staten Island.
During her years there, she maintained the light, raised her children, endured storms and winters that could leave the lighthouse surrounded by ice, and personally participated in rescues that she estimated saved about 50 people from drowning.
