Serious story from Glenorchy in #lgtas land, in which incumbent and mayoral candidate Peter Ridler was suspended due to CoC violations including the use of the N word during a council workshop and multiple inappropriate touching of women member of staff

Looking around various councils it is clear there are many candidates who are unendorsed political party members. I see no reason why there should not for future cycles be a requirement to disclose present and recent past party memberships. #lgtas #politas

Oh dear, bit a story in Circular Heads Council, where a misogynistic jokes from the MC of a candidate forum led to both a statement from the council itself (which was hosting the event) and the symbolic resignation of one of it's members

Seen a report that an experienced candidate for a mayoralty said on FB that renters can't vote. Haven't directly verified post but staggering ignorance if true. Renters are in fact now REQUIRED to vote in the council within which they are enrolled. #lgtas #politas
