@posttopostsport.bsky.socialGlad we had this game to get up and running before Clèrmont and Munster. Need to be better for those ones. One of those early season matches where you take the points and move on.
@posttopostsport.bsky.socialStarted well. His 3 missed kicks were poor but Sam was good from play in attack. Oliver Coffey had a great showing.
@posttopostsport.bsky.socialA largely forgettable game but it's good to be home!
@posttopostsport.bsky.socialIt's a Leinster win... you know what that means!
@leinsterrugby.bsky.social⚡ Jimmy O'Brien crossed twice to go along with tries from Hugo Keenan, Jack Conan and Jamie Osborne as we marked our return to Laya Arena with a bonus-point win under the lights!

@brettrugbyanalyst.bsky.socialFirst win of the season for Leinster , back at home in the RDS (Laya Arena) - Round 3

@cardiffrugbylife.bsky.socialTo finish the evening on two positives at least;
- Taine Basham in absolutely unreal form. Deserves a Cymru call-up without question.
- Matty Young with a super assured URC debut. One missed high ball but other than that he was great. Ran himself into the ground.

@robw40.bsky.social2nd half so much better for Cardiff. Scrum issues set the tone, & our half back / midfield defence in 1st half was woeful.
If we could’ve cut out the silly errors - knock ons etc - we could’ve perhaps nicked a couple more scores.
Loving how little credit the post match chat gave us 🤣🤣🤣

@hugogordon.bsky.socialSo not quite the statement win we might have hoped for on return to the RDS, but perhaps some rustiness was inevitable with so many playing their first rugby of the season. Hopefully we're warmed up for Clermont next week.
@hugogordon.bsky.socialLine-out in particular a mess, and I'm not sure why we asked Sheehan to play 70+ with Kelleher on the bench.
Some good moments in fairness, and I thought Prendergast, Keenan, McCarthy and JOB in particular played well. Coffey had a few rough moments but broadly impressed.
@hugogordon.bsky.socialA comfortable-looking 5 point win in the end but tbh scoreline doesn't really reflect how much hard work we made of everything after the first quarter really. Very flat in the second half in particular, and only some good defence and Cardiff wastefulness kept this from being a lot closer.
@jackorugby.bsky.social5 pts job done .. work to do for sure. Defence worries me though.. penny my motm

@cardiffrugbylife.bsky.socialLeinster 29-5 Cardiff FT
Kept much tighter in the second half but to be brutally honest we could stay out there for a week and wouldn’t have scored.
Distinct lack of accuracy, skill execution and pace to the attack.
Tough night.
@harpinonrugby.bsky.socialThat 2nd half was a bit of a chore but Leinster always comfortable. Sam doesn't run he glides and showed some great touches, nice to see Coffey work well with him after Fintan & Caspar have impressed too. Joe Mc pick of forwards, good long shift for many elite players. On to Clérmont #LEIvCAR
@leinsterrugby.bsky.socialA bonus-point win on our return home 💙
@leinsterrugby.bsky.socialThe BKT Player of the Match is... Sam Prendergast! 🤩
