New folks this evening. Expected to get the basics of the inside subjection, footwork, the posture of the straight line locked in, but we shifted between Thibault, Pacheco, Viedma, techniques inside and out of the arm.
They smashed it.

Achille Marozzo and the footman’s spear or pike. Bit stabby, very fun, 10/10 would recommend.

In the Crystal Palace mixed weapons class.

Disturbing how much people are enjoying this!😊

How good? That good!

Something I need to talk about at some point is the many earlier examples or the tornada. Tonight it’s applications in Longsword and some of its counters.

Bloody awesome.

Is there a swordfighting film you love, but every time you watch the fights you wince?

Started watching Highlander with Clau (her first time).
We will not be discussing the quality of the fight scenes.

Dussack from a private lesson. We stopped giggling enough to get a lot of Longsword done as well.

Brilliant progress.

We’re going to need a bigger dungeon!
When it’s quiet it’s always nice to bring out the big toys!

From the Crystal Palace mixed weapons class.

I got quoted 😂

For context, we were discussing safety in and how to get the most out of drills in the Longsword and sword in one hand class.

But this made me giggle. Thanks Simon.☺️

Interlude.

Been a fantastic start to the week, and more about the classes tomorrow. For now though, tea and Baldur’s Gate (again). See you on the sunny side.

A few more pages of Girard Thibault (only one of which belongs to me). To stand and marvel at these is an honour, and what subtleties you miss in most reproductions.
