@florgoth.bsky.socialAnd the last new one for today: @motherofgraves.bsky.social delivered once again.
Some excellent melodic Death/Doom. Paying a bit of attention to the layered arrangement was really satisfying! Especially as there are things happening that might get missed.
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialShores Of Null is one of *those* bands. They are not as heavy, or harsh, or melodic, or romantic as many of their peers. But I still like them. Their sound is good and their lyrics feel appropriate for the mood they are going for.
Their new album is no exception.
Highly recommended!

A ferocious slice of thrash from @rubyrockatansky.bsky.social out today! I am in love with the guitar work on this EP. Go grab it!
@florgoth.bsky.social#JustListened (again)
Yeah, still very much enjoying this one from July. Their take on StonerRock is great by itself, but mixing in a little BlackMetal vocals was a brilliant move.
So much energy, grit and melody; good times!
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialCan't really recall another band with a sound just like this. The structure and vocals are very much classic Punk, but then there are Metal riffs and blast beats too?
Very cool and energetic in any case; I enjoyed that quite a bit!
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialMy paths have not crossed @ourfaircity.bsky.social's before, but their new album is very well made.
Post Hardcore with a poetic approach to lyrics, relatable themes and a drummer who definitively works for his money!
A really nice sound overall!
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialOctober always feels like the best time for synthy post Punk (I've heard too much John Carpenter in my youth, I guess).
This was today's selection and it's very nice. Lovely vocals, great dynamics and pacing; a nice and atmospheric album.
Good stuff!
Highly recommended!

Here I was, thinking I've found a Huntress album I've not heard before! 😲
Turns out that's the name of the album...
Anyway this is described as "ritual deathscape, obscure death industrial" and I can't argue with that. Very noisy and creepy electronic drone music.
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialHere's a prime example why I love our little music corner here.
This is an intoxicating mix of Hip-Hop, Soul, R'n'B and Rock with drop-dead gorgeous vocals that sound haunting, vulnerable or powerful, just as each song requires it.
Love everything about it!
Highest recommendation!
@florgoth.bsky.socialI've consistently enjoyed the songs @musicofsound.bsky.social release; this one is no exception.
This is very simple, but an absolute earworm. It almost has a timeless quality, but it sounds grounded, real and super pretty.
Puts me in a good mood!
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialFound this on the weekend and decided to keep it for later.. the cover did it's job, I guess.
And this is really good! A tiny bit of BlackMetal in the guitars, some post Punk. Delicious groove, nice vocals and remarkably smooth and sweaty.
Very, very nice!
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialThis is blackened Doom with a healthy dose of drone in the background. Super noisy, HEAVY and very oppressive feeling.
There is an anger and hopelessness in this sound that is almost overwhelming; not the lightest thing I've heard today, but very well done.
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialSo let me get this straight: this band threw together BlackMetal, Doom, Thrash, Punk and Crust, turned the blender on high and out comes something that's infinitely more listenable and groovey than I'd have ever expected?
In fact, I really enjoyed it!
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialThere are two sure-fire ways to get me interested in your DungeonSynth music:
1. Make it super atmospheric but melodic.
2. Use vocals that make you sound like a deranged, rabid gremlin.
@eveyweveydevey.bsky.social got both in these songs! 😁
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialI don't think I've listened to Humulus before, but I like their style!
Their music falls under the PsychRock umbrella, but occasionally drifts into old-school Doom or alternative Rock as little embellishments.
Pretty unique and really cool!
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialThe new Corvus Corone takes a bit to get going (it's FuneralDoom after all), but it really pays off!
Fantastic HEAVY music to drift along with; and also with vocals you don't want to hear behind you in a dark alley!
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialSo the new project by Ted Skjellum of Darkthrone fame. I liked it quite a bit! It has a little older DeathMetal vibes and can bring the epicness when it's called for.
What's similar to DT is imo, that the sound feels like it's very familiar already, but not bad!
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialOkay, the new Smoulder. Their sound is really cool, but it felt kind of unsatisfying to me. A little too even without any "moments", maybe.
It might grow on me more on a repeat listen, since I really enjoyed their last album, but I'm not in a rush to hit play again. 🤷
Recommended.
@florgoth.bsky.socialI honestly wanted to listen to this album because of the bands name and cover, but today must be my lucky day because this is some really nice atmospheric and melodic StonerRock.
The vocals are perfect for the style and the bass- and guitar-tones are spot on.
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialAfter seeing their band photo, I expected these folks to play BlackMetal, but instead it's more in a PunkRock/PostPunk style that's been spiced with a little Metal.
A really cool sound, made even better with the garage band feel and pretty good lyrics.
Fun stuff!
Highly recommended!
