#TheDragonblood: Well, I've been discussing the Defenders of Fate this month for belated #Juniplex. Their assassination work is very much illegal in Nemoria.

#ThroughTheCracks: People make their own guns and sell them on the black market in the ALCEFS.

#TheDragonblood: Healing magic is pretty OP in Nemoria. A well-trained healer can cure even near-fatal injuries in seconds.

To cure lost limbs, material does need to supplied to replace the missing limb, though. Often leather is used for flesh and ivory for bone.

#TheDragonblood: The Land of Souls is frequently used for communication in Nemoria, but there are several limitations that make it not the best for the the Defenders of Fate's purposes. Some noncritical communications may still happen through it, though.

#TheDragonblood: Assassins receive their assignments from seers, with particular targets to take out.

Seers use scrying to determine who are the people who are likely to mess with time.

#TheDragonblood: A Defender of Fate must attend speeches by our charismatic leader. The assassins have drills to do to train and maintain their skills.

It's possible tasks like preparing food and such are rotated, or perhaps they have dedicated staff for them. I haven't decided.

#TheDragonblood: Portals make travel pretty simple. The portal network connects cities all around Nemoria, so you only have to worry about the travel from the nearest connected city.

Outside Nemoria, more travel is involved, though.

#TheDragonblood: The Defenders of Fate have an armoury. Supplies are only available to members, and you probably need to do some administrative work like fill out an expense report if you want something covered.

#TheDragonblood: The Defenders of Fate offer a free living space at their base. We'll call it a barracks.

As typical for a barracks, you don't get individual rooms. You get a common area with bunks.

#TheDragonblood: Members are offered free meals back at base. It'll be enough to sustain a working mage (quite a bit more than your regular person), but don't expect variety, spices or anything but the cheapest sustenance.

#TheDragonblood: Compensation is the elephant in room, here. The Defenders of Fate are neither government funded, nor are they out to bring home plunder. So, where does their funding come from to start with?

I could see the Defenders of Fate being one of the few groups in Nemoria that recruits the Soulless.

#TheDragonblood: The main divisions in the Defenders of Fate are seers and assassins. And in preparation for tomorrow, I'll add proselyters; more on them tomorrow. I may add more if I think I'm missing something.

#TheDragonblood: The Defenders of Fate are one of those scary things parents tell their children about in bedtime stories. Maybe slightly older children than the ones you'd tell stories to simply to convince them to behave and eat their vegetables.

#TheDragonblood: Depending on how you look at it, the main opponent of the Defenders of Fate is either people who would mess with time in irreconcilable ways, or fate itself.

And it may seem strange that the so-called Defenders of Fate would be fighting AGAINST fate.

#TheDragonblood: Fenzetor is the god of fate. He wouldn't typically be associated with strife, but is certainly associated with the Defenders of Fate, and the strife they are allegedly trying to defend from.

#TheDragonblood: The Defenders of Fate believe that they are on a mission to protect the timeline from paradox that will result in great impending doom. And the way to do that is through targeted murder of those who would mess with time.
