GOALBALL (17 October) - For this year's Para Asiad, goalball - a fast-paced team game for blind and visually impaired athletes - takes place at the Toyohashi General Gymnasium.

This Saturday, the men's and women's divisions have begun preliminaries.

In spite of the Games being marred with a chaotic build-up, Japan still takes a bow after the final act just as the XX Asian Games officially signs off.

Then, the afterparty begins afterwards as Japan cap these Games off with a Matsuri-style finale.

'Matsuri' is the Japanese word for a traditional festival, which often celebrates Japanese deities through dances, shows, parades and processions.

The handover to Doha took us back in time to relive Qatar's past experiences in hosting larger-scale events, ranging from the Asian Cup, to the 2022 World Cup, the 2019 World Athletics Championships, and especially the 2006 Asiad.

It will be the second time Doha plays as hosts, after in 2006, and organizers had been confident that the XXI Asiad can be staged without major new construction, with existing venues and infrastructure already in place.

Aichi-Nagoya has turned over the torch and flag from the first Asiad and then the OCA flag itself to representatives from Qatar, hosts to the next Asian Games in 2030 at Doha.

After been 16 days, the biggest sporting spectacle in Nagoya and across Aichi Prefecture will be drawn to a close.

Tonight, all the athletes will reconvene at the Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium, as we say goodbye to the XX Asian Games.

The existing individual competition, Group A, is to be contested at 1.45m in the first round and 1.50m in the final, while the newly introduced Group B will be decided over 1.55m courses. Each athlete may compete in only one of the two events.
