This was far from the first time he gripped his partner's hand like like a lifeline, even if for just a moment. He knew what it was like to want to keep holding on, to never want to let go. Letting go felt like accepting death itself, so the Exarch had pushed through pain of a different kind to just hold on for a moment longer, to seek comfort out of the Warrior for another breath before he let go so the crystal could take hold. His own final moments of pure white hot agony before the numbness took over and his very being was snuffed out.

Elidibus had shaken his head, firm in his conviction. "If it is a choice between remembering now only to forget later, and forgetting entirely, I would sooner choose the latter.
