Finally remembered my twitter login & that's where the #ffbmovienight crew seemed to be tonight. Ill try that earlier next time.
Either way: enjoyed the film

In the burial scene where the caskets are lowered into the ground with a tape recorder, the recording is a slowed down clip of Aleister Crowley repeating "bury me in a nameless grave" which is the opening line from his poem "The Poet" recorded in 1920.

This marks the debut of Rob Zombies long series with loving wife Sherri Moon.

Captain Spauldings car is a 1959 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible.

The cop car was a 1967 Chevrolet Impala.

This film would establish Sheri Moon Zombie as a Scream Queen. Ironically enough, she does not like horror films as they scare her too much.

The production was able to source a seven-foot-tall stuntman to double as Tiny.

In the beginning of the film, Dr. Wolfenstein says "I'm your host, your ghost host with the most!" This is a reference to both Disney's Haunted Mansion ("I am your host, your ghost host,") and Beetlejuice ("I'm the ghost with the most, babe.")

The film takes place on October 30, 1977.

Sid Haig beat out Jon Polito and Red West for the role of Capt. Spaudling.

The lo-fi, grungy cutaways including the opening title sequence and the serial killer "flashbacks" during the murder ride were predominantly filmed by Rob Zombie himself on a camcorder during the film's year-long stint in production limbo.

Youre eating with crazy people & you think Dr Satan is a good topic?

As of 2021, many of the film's stars have passed away, including Karen Black, Sid Haig, Tom Towles, Dennis Fimple, Irwin Keyes, Matthew McCrory and Michael J. Pollard. This seems to be a rare distinction for a movie that is not yet 20 years old.
#FFBMovieNight #Houseofa1000Corpses

Film debut of Sheri Moon Zombie, who was credited as Sheri Moon.

(at around 4 mins) The robber's line about "grease paint" and "brains" is a reference to the song "Grease Paint And Monkey Brains" by Rob Zombie's former band, White Zombie.

Dr. Satan's bone-covered foyer was inspired by an ossuary near Prague (most likely the Sedlec Ossuary).

When the gang are eating dessert at the family's dinner table, the actors are actually eating Tiny Firefly actor Matthew McGrory's birthday cake. Zombie stresses that anytime we see Grandpa Hugo eating onscreen, Dennis Fimple was actually eating during every take. #FFBMovieNight #Houseofa1000Corpses
