There is the void, then innocence, then promise, then false freedom, then giver, then peace. Of these cuts, it is only in innocence (from coffin to oath) that he is allowed to die. It is only then that, on the worst of all days, he is allowed to walk into the wall of water and hope he drowns. He only tries it twice. Both times, he is foiled by Olly.
