What's Left Behind

Your diary
On your desk
With my name on it
An evocative solicitation
Congregate demons
Energise me
With morbid curiosity
On the final page
A fatuous...

The knife in the crust,
cutting through with ease
A voice in my head dictates
escape to the wilderness
and follow those ravenous wild dogs
who live amongst rags in makeshift towns
those chains never go away

Working overtime
Driving me insane

Memories of then
Thinking about now
Not remember when's

Why do you taunt me
My ravenous brain
Reset to see

Nothing can be done
Past is the past
I survived
Therefore I won

The taste of copper
Knowing some would call it sin
My ravenous hunger
You cannot, will not win
Let me get closer
I want to taste your blood
A daydream nightmare
Controlled by darkness
I guess I confess
That this life
Is a neverending
