@fifthacecomics.orgIt's actually rather sweet how Harvey Bullock is legitimately shocked and saddened about Batman being supposedly killed off.
@fifthacecomics.orgWarner Bros. really liked the name "Sid the Squid" back in the day, didn't they? I know they used it in an earlier episode, and on Animaniacs too.
But those instances didn't also have Harley Quinn playing Amazing Grace on the kazoo, so this is the best one.

@worldsfinest.bsky.socialThe Batman: The Animated Series episode "The Cape and Cowl Conspiracy" debuted on this day (Oct. 14) in 1992. @fifthacecomics.orgSo when Vertigo captured Batman and Talia, he got rid of Batman's utility belt, but not Talia's?
I guess Vertigo could have just emptied hers manually, Batman's usually has defenses against that, otherwise the animators couldn't use the belt to emphasize her hips.
@fifthacecomics.orgYeesh, our first introduction to the League of Shadows and it's two agents avoiding capture by gassing themselves to "erase their minds" when you KNOW it was meant to be cyanide in the writers' room.

@fifthacecomics.orgAnd yet, at the end, he still gets to smile.
Batman is allowed to smile.
@fifthacecomics.orgMan, this episode ("I Am the Night")...
The internal torment that Batman goes through, his guilt and trauma that makes him question his life choices...
People commend AtLA for not talking down to its audience, but this show was years ahead.
@fifthacecomics.orgNow THAT is a shot.
@worldsfinest.bsky.socialThe Batman: The Animated Series episode "Mad as a Hatter" debuted on this day (Oct. 12) in 1992. A stand-out episode, despite the lacking animation, writer Paul Dini crafts a compelling origin for The Mad Hatter as he uses mind control to win over a co-worker! #BatmanTAS #Batman
@fifthacecomics.orgRobin flunked Greek mythology? But in the last Riddler episode, he was all about the Minotaur maze?
@fifthacecomics.orgAh, the VR episode; as much as I love the Riddler as a villain, this one was just goofy.
I forgot how obsessed comic book properties were with virtual reality back in the 90s; 30 years later, how much has really changed?
@worldsfinest.bsky.socialThe Batman: The Animated Series episode "Cold Comfort" debuted on this day (Oct. 11) in 1997. @fifthacecomics.orgTime for one of the best episodes ever: "Almost Got 'im."
@fifthacecomics.orgI know it's a kid's show and all, and it might have given the plot away too soon, but they were cowards to not give Francine Langstrom bat-boobs.
