Salisbury Beach in Platinum, Pt/Pd Print.

I’ve been cranking out examples while I refine my process with the Pt/Pd process. It’s been nice taking a tour of some work I’ve made recently as physical, hand-altered darkroom prints. #platinotype #altpro #alternativeprocess #darkroom #handson

This was a print from a weekend demo I did with my BFA & MFA students showcasing the #mordançage process in the #darkroom, and while I initially labeled it a failure, I belligerently worked on it until I was content with it, teaching a valuable lesson I deeply believe about #altpro:

#Chemigram on 1940s #Kodak #Velox paper. A pretty successful demonstration with four leaf prints done as chemigrams and chemilumens in a variety of methods, dev or fix first here or there, positive or negative reliefs, etc. pretty successful for a brief hour demo. #altpro #darkroom

Catch-all Drawer: locked away, but still dreaming. #Photogram with #Cyanotype notes.

Still sharing some demo prints made within the last few weeks of my #altpro Handmade Photos class at #uaf ; really digging creating without expectations,

as they started to see the endless possibilities of #chemigrams - and then realizing you can mix it with lumens, photograms, and cyanotypes - #altpro is so welcoming, diverse, and always wonderfully unique.

Either way, I think it came out especially awesome after using the #sabattiereffect to #solarize the results in the darkroom - an #altpro two-for-one demo! I couldn’t pass up drawing up a mockup for what’s no doubt going to be the best album of the year.

It’s been an incredibly busy start to the semester, but I get to teach my Handmade #Altpro Photo course so the breakneck pace that I’m introducing processes to them has at least created exciting work! #darkroom #darkarts

Somewhere on US 287 in Wind River Reservation, #Wyoming. Pt/Pd Print over Pigment.

Had a few issues with this one while working out the kinks before introducing this process to my students later this fall.

Excited to announce that two of my #mordançage prints will be traveling to Southern California as part of @thephotographerseyecollective “s(Light) of Hand 2026” Exhibition juried by @ann_jastrab ! On top of that amazing news, I’ve received Juror’s Choice!! #altpro #handmade #darkroom #filmisnotdead

I decided to reuse the plants for an #altpro #lumenprint and I’m pretty excited about these pre-fixed, fugitive colors. Didn’t do too many lumens this year but I’m teaching them in my #Handmade Photos class, so I’m inspired to have more examples for students!
