It doesn't count for #61MoviesOfHalloween (too short) but Wall Udder from Etheria is one seriously messed up short film. @republicandalek.bsky.social

And I, in an effort to not end up down that "movies that start with The" rabbit trail again, am rounding out the night with a short film called Do Not Rewind, from the 2026 Etheria Film Festival. #Movie48 #61MoviesOfHalloween
Ah, I see. Well, I'm going on the assumption that if she participated in the event and the list is of "a few of Darcy's favorite movies" then they all technically qualify under the #61MoviesOfHalloween rules. Because surely Darcy wouldn't participate in a LIE.
Well, anyway, that was a movie. That was made. And that I watched. #Movie47 #61MoviesOfHalloween @republicandalek.bsky.social
Speaking of, I need to check off some Darcy movies too so #Movie47 is The Deadly Spawn. Which somehow I've never seen and as much as I respect Darcy as a woman who loves horror, I am not optimistic about it. It does have the advantage of being only 80 minutes long though. #61MoviesOfHalloween
It's three hours long! You should be adding characters! #61MoviesOfHalloween
I think William Petersen is playing a mashup of Quint and Brody. There's also a marine biologist. #61MoviesOfHalloween @republicandalek.bsky.social
Oh, and ha, I just saw that it's based on a book by Peter Benchley so my comment about ripping off Jaws is extra funny. #61MoviesOfHalloween @republicandalek.bsky.social
With William Petersen! #61MoviesOfHalloween
Speaking of creature features, #Movie46 is The Beast, a made for TV miniseries that shamelessly rips off Jaws, complete with an authority figure who insists on making one bad decision after another. I don't think he's the mayor, but the town's named after him. #61MoviesOfHalloween
Oh hey! I see what I inadvertently did there! #61MoviesOfHalloween
(Honestly, tho, it was like subway tunnels, and having lived in NYC, I can tell you that they usually don't break new ground. It's like pulling teeth to get new ground broken.)
Probably! It's been a weird few days. And frankly the 80s and 90s blur for me sometimes. #61MoviesOfHalloween
Breaking with the trend at last, #Movie45 is the short film Behind the Door. Interesting twist at the end frankly. I tentatively approve! #61MoviesOfHalloween @republicandalek.bsky.social
Keeping with my new random trend of movies that start with "The", #Movie44 was The Last Broadcast, also found footage, but older (1988). Found footage before found footage was cool! #61MoviesOfHalloween @republicandalek.bsky.social
Hello! Turns out that I am not, however seasonally appropriate it would be, dead. I do have some catching up to do though! #Movie43 was an Australian found footage gem called The Tunnel. It didn't break any new ground but it was entertaining. #61MoviesOfHalloween
Tonight for #Movie42 I selected a 2003 Heath Ledger film that I somehow completely missed, called The Order. And honestly I could have kept missing it and lived a perfectly happy life. #61MoviesOfHalloween @republicandalek.bsky.social
That's unfortunate. It's on my watchlist but maybe I'll slide that down the priority level. Last night #Movie41 was a short called The Sound, which was... basically exactly what you might expect. Wasn't really that scary but there was horror. #61MoviesOfHalloween
Sticking with Tales from the Void for now, which are apparently all dramatizations of creepypasta from the No Sleep reddit. #Movie40 was Episode 2, "Fixed Frequency". Baby monitors! The horror! #61MoviesOfHalloween
I apparently counted two movies as Movie 17 which means this next one is actually #Movie39 not #Movie38. Another episode of yet another anthology show that I've never before heard of! Tales from the Void's first episode "Into the Unknown". #61MoviesOfHalloween
