The #StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds finale is the biggest "WeirdSpaceBaby" episode Star Trek has done to date.
If you haven't seen it, this will make sense when you do.

@retrobrendo.bsky.socialI feel like Tomorrow’s Enterprise was written before they knew they were getting a fifth season. It works as a series and season finale. #StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds
@andrewjsmithaudio.bsky.socialSo, how was this latest season of #strangenewworlds?
I listened to my favorite video essayists (I hate to call them critics) talk about it and I noticed a common theme.
When Trek is GREAT, they talk about an episode like it is a literary work and say things like "this is what makes Trek special!"+
@riversidewings.bsky.socialI wasn't happy with part of Like Chronitons Through the Hourglass, after first watching it. It was a little too gimmicky after the preceding few episodes. But on the rewatch, the overdone camp of the "soap opera" really underscores the gut-punch at the end by utter contrast. #StrangeNewWorlds
@mklopez.bsky.socialAlmost a week after the #StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds S4 finale, and I'm still a bit baffled to see so many people didn't like the gimmick episodes. Me? I'm placing that Muppet story in the very short list of things I rewatch when I'm depressed -- or around Xmas.

@joewynne.mstdn.plus.ap.brid.gy@joewynne.mstdn.plus.ap.brid.gyI would have expected an exterior indicator that says Ready.
Like a microwave.
@joewynne.mstdn.plus.ap.brid.gy@MisophonicSpree Hey, it's Starfleet and we can't be mollycoddling the crew.

Like the NCL concept...
New Chill La'An
@joewynne.mstdn.plus.ap.brid.gyYou ask for a meeting to discuss your experience with a colleague over coffee/tea and they tell you that it's a time anomaly.

What if Uhura didn't hear a false alarm about Scotty?
What if she heard a future that was actually real — and then watched that future get erased?
