I haven't really thought about Wertham's neighbours, as the whole story will take place within the city, but it would be fun to give it a "sister city" in New Avalon, the gorgeous, hospitable and eco-friendly gem of the West Coast. Everything is so much better there. We hate them.

I did mention neighboring elemental kingdoms around London. Most of them are somewhere in kindness and respect, but there are some others--Namely the Ice Queen of the White Mountains doesn't view Cassie in a very positive light due to Cassie's inexperience as a royal.

The closest neighbour is Springhaven, less of a village and more a farming commune/cult compound. A mostly Hare community, the Folk of Springhaven wear bright orange robes, play tambourines and sell their wares at the West Harewood market without mixing too much with unbelievers.

Arizona towns often run together, like you go shopping in Phoenix and across the street are shops in a suburb! Not sure if Eloy is that way with its neighbors like Arizona City (ironically not incorporated to be a city) or Picacho. Looking up something like “Eloy rivals”… #Septopolis #HistorytownAZ

The lieges of all the provinces officially work together at a federal level, but disputes over trade and borders are perpetual, and armed conflict is common. The lieges play political and economic chess with every waking moment, just waiting for the others to show any weakness.

The closest thing to a neighboring settlement to Arcadia is Geneva, Switzerland, which is right below it. There is some ongoing debate about whether Arcadia should be considered a Swiss city or not, but overall, the two cities are on friendly terms.

Platypus Station is part of the Alliance, which is a cooperative of the intelligent species in the galaxy. I haven't fleshed out the other members.

The story focuses mainly on the humans and the denizens of one particular planet who may wish to join the Alliance.

For the most part, relations with neighbouring Cavern States is not exactly friendly nor hostile. Sports-like rivalries, sure, but then everything sorta half-works together with a UN like cavern-wide body at the middle of it all for diplomacy and stuff.
