🧡 It’s the #NationalDayForTruthandReconciliation. Today, we honor the survivors of residential schools and those who live with the ongoing impacts of colonialism. It is our responsibility to listen, learn, and work towards a future rooted in respect and healing. #OrangeShirtDay

I am a 2nd generation survivor.

My Father, paternal Uncle, Aunties, Grandparents, & Great-Grandparents were all forced to attend boarding schools in South Dakota and Kansas.

I am here only because they survived.

Many did not.

It's Orange shirt day 🧡 a day of acknowledging and mourning for the 10s of thousands of indigenous children boarding schools killed and ethnically cleansed. Look up where the 2k calories a day diet came from. #orangeshirtday #indigenouslivesmatter #endcalonialism #heathen

September 30 is #OrangeShirtDay, honoring the thousands of Indigenous children who attended government-run and church-run residential/boarding schools in Canada and the US, honoring those who never came home as well as those who survived, honoring their families.

We remember the thousands of children who were stolen from their families; the children who never came home and the survivors of Residential schools, their families and communities.

Every child matters. 🧡

Nuclear projects including uranium mining, reactors, & waste impinge on traditional Indigenous lands.

We're grateful for the life-affirming values and spiritual guidance provided by Indigenous wisdom posted here:
