As residential school denialism grows, the truth matters more than ever. Yet, survivor records will be destroyed in Sept. 2027. Connie Walker explains what will be lost when the records are destroyed & proposes a new archive to protect the truth.

A 2017 Supreme Court ruling authorized the destruction of 38,000 Indian Residential School Survivor records in Sept. 2027. In this Brief, Kimberly Murray argues for a right to truth to ensure that the violations of Indigenous human rights never happen again.
