21/09/26. Unfortunately this raggedy-ar$ed Convolvulus Hawk-moth did nothing to de-humidify an already damp squib (165/22) and probably saddened the sorry affair to a higher degree... ๐ #teammoth #norfolkmoths

... and talking of moths on an amazing run here, up popped another Vestal this weekend. We've had so many TG04 records this summer/autumn. And every one has been different. This one a little faded but the lemon & raspberry remains...

I've always loved a double (L-) album! The amazing run for this brilliant Wainscot in 2026 continues a pace ~ amazing that we only had our 1st L-album Wainscot last year & this autumn has produced at least eight in recent weeks.

Three more of the Dusky-lemon Sallow from the weekend. This smart & understated moth reminds me of the upperpart colour scheme of a particularly well-marked, darker looking (dark-breasted) Barn Owl: such a neat & distinctive look ๐

Absolutely the star of the mothing show over the weekend was this NFG a pristine Dusky-lemon Sallow. Records in TG04 are thin on the ground but this one coincided with another in the village the same night. Quite a localised moth countywide too.

A bit worn but getting a bit late for Foxglove. Obsi giving 93% Toadflax. Not much of a 'kink' on the central cross-band but shows a pale streak below the discal spot (though could be wear/damage). Any thoughts please... #teammoth #[email protected] @norfolkmoths.bsky.social
Only 36/15 in windy Hunstanton last night, but NFG Autumnal Rustic & NFY 2 Beaded Chestnuts, so worth putting trap out!
Lesser YU tops on 6. #teammoth #norfolkmoths
Also in trap, a Lygus pratensis, described as a pest species, one of the Mirid group, difficult to ID.
A late Scarce Silver-lines last night was NFG. Misnamed as itโs common in Norfolk. A beautiful moth!
