#mechtober 7 I've always liked the Northwind Highlanders, especially since they go back to ancient Terra. I loved how they were the backbone of the Black Watch. They were also the outfit I usually joined in MW4: Mercs hah

For #mechtober
Well, my free fiction is available RIGHT NOW, featuring Northwind Highlanders in the Gothic universe!
Also out is Long Road, featuring former Highlanders making their way downtown, walkin' fast, faces pass, and they're homebound.
(I kid, but this is kinda a semi-accurate description?🤪

10/7 - Northwind Highlanders!
Today I'm putting everyone's favorite un-aging Scottish mercenary Leopard pilot on blast - Ryana from #mechwarrior5! Fun fact from the book The Mercenary Life, was a Highlander pilot with the Northwind Highlanders, an anthology prequel to the game

Finally joining in on #mechtober, my non-canonical Northwind Highlanders lance: the Night Witches!

Alright, in my time zone I'm already late for @battletech.bsky.social's celebration of the Mountain Wolves for #mechtober, but it's still October 6th somewhere, so...

Let me just say that Russell Zimmerman's Violent Inception is my #1 favorite piece of wargaming tie-in fiction. Love these kids!

For #Mechtober 6th, we look at the Rifleman IIc! This original TRO 3055 Mech was STUNNING in full color along with the other IIc Mechs. It's obnoxiously long barrel arms & extra large radar dish are iconic. The new CGl sculpt isn't nearly as flashy, but gets the job done.

#Mechtober 6 - Mountain Wolf BattleMechs

Mountain Wolf BattleMechs is a manufacturer split between the Lyran Commonwealth and the Outworlds Allaince. They are probably best known for the Merlin which was one of the first all new chassis introduced after the devastation of the Succession Wars.

@hauptmannhansa.bsky.socialOct 6, 2026, 2:15 PM

Today for #Mechtober is Moutain Wolf Battlemechs.
Across multiple Shrapnels, Rusty Zimmerman wrote an arc about getting MW's Merlin into production, and it's incredible.
The first story is one of family pride, and despair; of love and trying to earn a father's love.
It's Btech fiction at its best.

@thecruball.bsky.socialOct 6, 2026, 2:14 PM

Sixth day of #Mechtober and it’s all about the mountain wolves . This group of Mechwarriors won me over both as a beacon of inclusivity and as fully realized characters brought to life by Russel Zimmerman . I haven’t got a chance to paint any yet but I did build a bunch !

10/6 - Mountain Wolf Battlemechs!
A quick Sarna search told me this manufacturer is an Inner Sphere supplier of one of my favorite Clan 'mechs, the Rifleman IIC: which earned my love in MWO, as I'd change two pulse lasers out for ERs and snipe like a coward on big snow maps 🤣

Mountain Wolves day on #mechtober !
Hoping to see a novel anthology soon and more stories.

I painted their signature Merlin BattleMech and wrote a guide on paints and process here: mechpainters.org/miniature/me...

Day Six of #mechtober #battletech and we turn to Mountain Wolf BattleMechs, yet another manufacturer I discounted until recent fiction forced a revisit. Most of that came down to the Merlin, partly "but Hatchetman first?" but also because the TRO3058 art was a miss for me.

@khealos.bsky.socialOct 6, 2026, 12:23 PM

#mechtober 6 - What I know about Mountain Wolf Battlemechs is their color, and a friend, Rusty Zimmerman has written about them. He did inspire me to get a Merlin, though I didn't paint it as MWB colors. The stories are a fun read
