"Ed?" Ed had his eyes closed, but he opened them as he craned up at Stede. "Yes?" "You were talking to yourself. You kept saying warmth, good food, and something else I didn't catch." Ed blinked, and he sank deeper into the water. "S'nothing. Just my… reasons for living." "Oh," Stede murmured, tucking a strand of hair behind Ed's ear. "So warmth, good food, and what else? If you don't mind me asking." Ed swallowed. He rested his head against Stede's chest, listening to his beating heart, and sucked in a breath. "Orgasms." A pause followed, and Ed couldn't tell whether his heart or Stede's stopped beating. After a beat, Stede nuzzled against Ed's cheek and pressed a kiss on his cheekbone. "Orgasms?" "Yeah," Ed mumbled. "Intercourse, actually, but orgasms, you know. Gotta finish with the good shit." "Of course," Stede mused. "It's not just intercourse." Ed chuckled in agreement, reminding himself to breathe as Stede trailed kisses down his neck, his hand trailing even lower.
