Photos really don't capture just how enormous this place is. Standing at the edge and seeing layer after layer of canyon stretching toward the horizon is absolutely insane.

What you see below is the Colorado River, roughly 200 feet wide. Calm in places and terrifying in others, it has a way of making you feel both small and deeply at peace.

Check this camera for winter trail conditions. At this time, Bright Angel Trail is open to Havasupai Gardens. However, trail is CLOSED from Havasupai Gardens down to and including the Silver Bridge, through May 14, 2025, for waterline replacement. Drinking water stations at Mile-and-a-Half and Three-Mile Resthouses have been turned off for the winter. Water is only available at Havasupai Gardens.
