#FantasyIndiesSpooktober Day 8:
I’ve tried my best to ensure that Elysia is overpowered. She’s hydrophobic. To her, water is only good for drinking and bathing. She’s also mildly claustrophobic and equinophobic (but both are under control).

9. Well, I hope to catch up with the Dresden Files series sometime relatively soon.
Can't say I'm doing a lot of reading right now. I've got time for that or #writing, and I'm prioritizing the latter.
Day 9 - Books I hope to read before year end
I want to finish my reread of R.A. Salvatore's Crystal Shard, the first book in the Icewind Dale Trilogy so I can start my podcast script about it
Happy Friday! I have 24 books left to read for my Goodreads reading challenge for the year. I'm currently reading The House on the Borderland, but I don't know what's next. I have several dozen books on my Kindle.

Iberto is terrified of losing his family again. Luckily, he's able to do something about it this time.
Arlise Phobias:
-Geese. She had an encounter with a particularly aggressive one as a child and it left its mark, in more ways than one.
-Fire. Between memories of Laufenden and her facial burn, it strikes at a really uncomfortable spot for her.
Day 8. MC Phobias.
Anastasia: Fear of not being enough.
Vivian: Fear of being forgotten.

It’s a bit of an odd phobia, but Veldandi is actually terrified of thunder.
While this makes it difficult for her to deal with Blitzers at times, it stems from an incident in her childhood where thunder from a nearby lightning strike damaged her ears.
Day 8 of #FantasyIndiesSpooktober
I haven't yet included any phobias for my main characters in my Oracle of Delphi series WIP, although it might be fun to have one or two Pythiai afraid of falling (the slopes of Parnassos are very steep).

8. MC Phobias
Jynrahd fears water. Growing up in the desert, deep water was never an issue, but crossing the ocean to start a new life was somewhat traumatic. He cannot swim and favours heavy armour, so he knows he'd sink like a stone and prefers not to test it.
Brian has some pretty understandable worries about losing his physical or mental faculties, given his disease, but his fear of water? That one's brand new since he came to Eos. Almost drowning twice will do that to you, I guess.

One of my MCs, Barbara Culann, has a slight fear of thunder.
Which, I guess, is kind of funny in an ironic way since her flaw is her explosive temper.
8- #FantasyIndiesSpooktober- In Uncanny Encounters, mirrors are one of the only things that really freaks Gretchen out (hope to explore this more in a future novella)! The only other thing that scares her is the lake in her hometown!
#FantasyIndiesSpooktober Day 8: MC Phobias. Sharrec has a very specialized phobia: He's afraid of remembering his past. Every time he starts to, he has a seizure. I know why, but he doesn't -- yet. #WritingCommunity
