I've something bigger from this morning's #art session - a 6x4" #watercolour of a #Dartmoor #stonerow.

I need to let it dry and press it flat, but I've shown it here in a 10x8" frame to give an impression of its final form.

This one is available for sale - message me if you're interested...

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our Witches & Wild Hunt storywalk, as part of Dartmoor Outdoor Festival!

These folkloric motifs appear in many #Dartmoor stories, & we were treated to a suitably atmospheric & misty day to hear about them on the moor.

I love this video of Bellever in November 2024 I found. It was very cold with a light dusting of frost, there was a beautiful mist over the river and that night snow fell. #Dartmoor, #Devon #photography

Photos taken near Whitchurch Down this week, not spectacular but I did feel really rough and did get out for a bit so that’s a win 🙂, #Dartmoor, #Devon #photography

A belated entry for #PostBoxSaturday

Too busy with #aofoto and the just published!! magazine (shameless plug aofoto.art), & a bad cold, to think about the joys of rural postboxes.

Love Drizzlecombe - although by name and nature, it’s not always that sunny! [The trees over the brow of the hill belong to nearby abandoned Warren Farm - used as the location for Spielbergs ‘Warhorse’ (2011] #StandingStoneSunday #Dartmoor

Stone row at Drizzlecombe - straight line of stones on a sloping rugged moorland under a grey mizzly July sky - the tallest stones, (at each end, one seen in this photo) are well above head height.Lone derelict moorland farmhouse with two tall trees seen in misty drizzle on a grey July day

Twisty hawthorns near Whitchurch Down on Wednesday, #Dartmoor, #Devon. Colour and black and white version I liked the sculptural branches of these tress and thought it would interesting in black and white as well. #photography

Taviton brook near Whitchurch Down on Wednesday, #Dartmoor, #Devon. It was used on the construction of the short lived mine wheal surprise, 1851-6. The word Wheal describes mine shafts comes from the Cornish language word hwel, which translates directly to mine or mine workings. #photography

Hive trees and whirlpools! Delightful 11th c. description of #Dartmoor and surrounds. The 'Great Linden Tree' nr Ogwell is unlikely to be alive now, but, unusually for here, a glut of ancient lime trees persist in woods very close by :D @ancienttreeforum.bsky.social #trees tinyurl.com/5ae5ux2u
