I'm gonna call this a #BirdStare today as I was so excited to see one of my favorite birds after two years at my local haunt yesterday. Here, we see a blue-gray gnatcatcher giving us some side-eye. #BirdoftheDay #Birds #Nature #Photography

Perched on a vertical brown twig is a beautiful little gnatcatcher. S/he is a light gray in the front, and a bluish dark gray on the cap and back and wings. S/he has a small round black eye with a subtle white eye ring, and a short pointed black beak. The background is a blurry mix of green and brown shrubbery. The morning sun casts a couple twig shadows across the light-colored bird.

For today’s #BirdOfTheDay theme of #TheDivers & Alt #BirdStare, here are 2 Brown Pelicans (Pelecanus occidentalis) at a beach-based fish market in Manta, Ecuador. Fishing boats anchor offshore, fish are brought to the beach on small boats & cleaned right there on the beach. Birds get an easy meal!
