@tothebatpoles.bsky.socialHAPPY BAT-BIRTHDAY to James Neil Hamilton, born 9/9/1899 in Lynn, Mass., our Commissioner Gordon. He was a silent film star, getting his break in D.W. Griffith's "The White Rose." Had trouble getting A level work in the mid-1940s after insulting a film exec. #Batman66 1/2
@tothebatpoles.bsky.social60 YEARS AGO: 9/9/1966 Greenway Productions' "The Green Hornet" TV show debuts, starring Van Williams, former star of drama "Surfside 6", and Bruce Lee, whose stardom would soon eclipse Williams'. We devoted an episode of TO THE BATPOLES! to GH: tothebatpoles.libsyn.com/061-who-is-t... #Batman66

@tothebatpoles.bsky.socialYES, COMMISSIONER: Wax figure of Batman stolen? The work of the Riddler! The Batphone rings as Bruce, Dick, & Harriet play a game of global capitals. With the excuse that he & Dick are to have dinner with a college chum. "The RIddler! He's struck again!" says Gordon. And they're off! #Batman66
@tothebatpoles.bsky.socialHAPPY BAT-BIRTHDAY to Eddie Ness, born 9/7/1922 in MN. He has only a handful of screen credits, 2 of them on #Batman66: "Millionaire" camping with Bruce ("check the muskrat traps") in "The Devil's Fingers" (S2 E15) & Coast Guard Officer who can't find an icebreaker in "The Duo Defy" (S2 E60)!

@tothebatpoles.bsky.socialListen to our TO THE BATPOLES podcast ep on Stanley Ralph Ross' script for "Shoot a Crooked Arrow". Examining the script, we can see what Ross meant to have happen in some of the weirder scenes. tothebatpoles.libsyn.com/072-archer-f... #Batman66
@tothebatpoles.bsky.social60 YEARS AGO: 9/7/66 #Batman66 S2 launches w/ "Shoot a Crooked Arrow." Hoo boy, not the show's finest hour. Art Carney is dull as the Archer, & editing make a mess of the script. Alfred decapitated? And then -- oops, guess not! Huh!? But Barbara Nichols & Robert Cornthwaite turn in fun performances.
@battypoison.bsky.sociali still dont know why the heck The Riddler had a mice themed gang for one story #Batman66
@tothebatpoles.bsky.socialHAPPY BAT-BIRTHDAY to John Mitchum, born 9/6/1919 in Bridgeport, CT. The younger brother of Robert Mitchum! Not as famous but did have over 160 TV & film parts, in F Troop, The Munsters, The Virginian & more. Twice on #Batman66: Shame goon Rip Snorting (S2E25-26) and surfer Hot Dog Harrigan (S3E10).
@tothebatpoles.bsky.socialHAPPY BAT-BIRTHDAY to twins Alyce and Rhae Andrece born 9/5/1936 in Thornton, IL. They played policewomen in one of our least-loved #Batman66 eps, "Nora Clavicle & the Ladies' Crime Club" (S3E19). Also played Mudd's 500 Alices on #StarTrekTOS ("I, Mudd", S2E8). No evidence they were Doublemint Twins
