@dc20willsave.bsky.socialFilm #337: The Space Children
Not bad, mostly hokey. A better script and better actors and it might have been more than just an oddity. I very rarely say a film needed to be longer but... well... #2026Films
@dc20willsave.bsky.socialFilm #336: The Emperor's New Groove
One of Disney's most fun films. Does a part of my soul ache for the original version of the film? Yeah but the one we got is still great! #2026Films
@dc20willsave.bsky.socialFilm #335: Big Driver
It's a Lifetime Stephen King adaptation starring Maria Bello, Olympia Dukakis, and Joan Jett. That alone is absolutely bizarre, almost as Bizarre as the fact that it's not terrible. Don't get me wrong: it's a paint by numbers r*pe revenge film but Maria is good. #2026Films

Visually insane! It's just an absolutely unique film. Of course, audiences didn't know what to do with it but just an absolute joy to watch. It does go a smidgen too long, but I barely care. Definitely benefits from watching on the largest screen available! #2026Films

@dc20willsave.bsky.socialFilm #333: The Deadly Mantis
Silly but inoffensive giant monster movie. The monster is a little cheap looking but that's part of the fun, especially the models. Plus, it has a scene where they fight the model with a flamethrower! #2026Films
@dc20willsave.bsky.socialFilm #332: Shoulder Dance
Fairly predictable gay comedy. One of the rare times that the female lead in one of these is fun and actually gets to do something. It's mostly an excuse for Matt Dallas to show off he's still hot and Taylor Frey to show off his ass but I mostly enjoyed it. #2026Films

@dc20willsave.bsky.socialFilm #330: Out for a Kill
I realized about halfway through this that I've never watched a Seagal film before. I wish I was that person still. It's a fairly dull film, bad but never remarkable or memorable outside of a couple of random weird moments. Too much NuMetal. #2026Films

@dc20willsave.bsky.socialFilm #329: Ladies and Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains
It's okay. I can see the satire there but there's just enough cynicism that I can't quite totally get it to gel for me. Still, Diane Lane and Laura Dern, you can see the spark of who they'll become. #2026Films
