Four paws press into warm earth and wait
As clipped thorns fall to sleep in the darkness
A lid watches from above as yesterday's rain dries

this digital bloodbath
so easy to generate
something good enough
empty sadness trails behind
like half-severed limbs
leaving bloody tracks
leading away from an altar
built hap-hazardly by greedy hands
with dollar-sign myopia
humanity is erasing itself

Stains

Brenda looked over her cards and pushed few energybars to the pile. “Sounds messy. Smoke in sublevels is always messy.” Clark folded, but Lisa checked. “What #conflict it is now? Seventy is the foundry, right?” Amos flipped through the list, “Sub-foundry. Full of slag.” #vss365

“#Conflict recorded in the sublevel seventy. Localized fires detected. Sweepers dispatched via the central tunnel. Arrival in twenty minutes.” The voice crackled through the speaker. Amos leaned back on the chair and looked over his shoulder. “Should we go too?” #vss365

The #conflict ended so long ago, but no one could put down the battle standards. So while the dead rested in peace descendents stirred and marched to a tune forefathers would never recognise. #vss365
