She looked back at him, and he lifted an eyebrow. “What did you do?” he asked, partly teasing, but all serious. “Broke down, cried, had a meltdown, and Hope was right there for all of it trying to help even when I shut down,” she confessed, and immediately regretted it. That was another reason she didn’t want to be here. His power of confession was strong, combined with his aspect of protection which brought the feeling of comfort, she spilled her guts whenever she was with him. “I’m glad you felt comfortable enough around Hope to be yourself and not so guarded as you are with everyone else,” he said, taking one hand from her back to wipe her tears. “You don’t have to be strong all the time. Grief comes and goes, Da’katao (granddaughter). If you hold onto it, all it does is grow and take over your life.”
