Only a short #patchbirding walk this evening on rural Godinton Park… but it turned into an Owl-fest. 3 Little Owls were in one of the usual oaks (nice to confirm breeding success this year), a calling Tawny Owl again & best of all, a hunting BARN OWL !!! Species #99 - Year ✅. Never easy to see here.

Alan @alan678.bsky.social has set today's #BirdOfTheDay themes: #ABCD and #RSTU. This is crying out for the double so here's a #twofer with a very recent Eurasian Blue Tit from #Lincolnshire.

Decent couple of day’s #patchbirding - Lesser WT, Redstart, 2 Spot Fly, 2 Whinchat, several Yellow Wags & Tree Pipits at Pewley. Y’day an unexpected Pec Sand popped up for me at Staines. Today finally went for the Shrike with James M - with a bonus adult Ferruginous Duck #ukbirding #ukrarebirds

Pectoral Sandpiper - flew in from the ‘west’ pitching down in front of me. This may be the same one reported from Walton a few days ago? Anyway, it loves a bit of ‘sewage foam’. Staines truly at its best … Lovely bird. Shame about the toggers surrounding its tree but I guess it’s used to it by now. The tail really is super long We went to Dix looking for a female type and ended up with a superb adult male. There is a female Tufted there with very white undertail coverts….
