There aren't many board games yet -- it's a bronze age world and only a few have been developed. The popular local board game is similar to mancala, played with stones going around the board and collecting pieces in a goal at the end of the board.
AElitians play a game similar to chess in which the pieces have specific movement rules and the goal is to capture as many of the opposing "army" as possible. D'robeans play mostly dice and card games but do have a game most of us would liken to backgammon.
Well, most board games in my settings are based on chess...
a popular boardgame within my world is explorers of tanak, which is like catan but part of the win condition system involves claiming control over a central relic on top of the trading #octoberworldbuilders
There would be no boardgames in the Hunting Grounds, but Desi loves horror games like Mansions of Madness and Betrayal at House on the Hill. (I love those games too!)

Roberto lives in the modern world; it's basically an alternate version of our world and the board games are mostly the same, but Roberto only enjoys chess. His vampire senses make it so he can't quite predict his opponent's next move but close!!
No laughing at my poor GIMP skills from the past! š
Raiders & Mammoth is a game I came up with for the setting that serves several purposes, not least of which is to intone that early racecourse games like Senet may have come to us from Neanderthal freinds. š§µ1/8

9: In Karnassia (co-created with @jmaxwell-author.bsky.social), each society has different board games, with Atmoriel have a six-sided, six player version of a rough ācheckers equivalent,ā Hrothians playing a simplified version of chess, and the Vizrani playing a convolutedā¦

I think Chess certainly exists in the game world. Some games, such as this old game called Stratego, may not exist, but they would have some functional counterpart in the Hero's Edge.
Games like Clue, for example, most š§µ
Yes, actually! Lep-ShiĆØn, AKA Lapis, loves games and made his own board game. The closest irl equivalent is Sternhalma/Chinese Checkers. There are three boards with ranging difficulty, and levels to the board itself. The basic one is two colliding spirals, forming one.

Board games do exist. I donāt have any created for Sun-Drop, however Alia was introduced to scrabble, and she likes it. LāAmen-a suggested she introduce it to her Sun-Drop with the appropriate letters for the language, and Alia thinks her sister Ekani would really enjoy it
#OctoberWorldbuilders, hello! Let's focus on board games in your setting today: Do any exist in your world? How complex are they? Do they cover specific themes or concepts? How do players win? Is it comparable to any irl board games?
Back before she joined the Order of Watchers, Arlise was a gladiatrix in the Tyrian Dominion for a while, making a bit of a name for herself in Byrsa and Tyra Nova. Not something sheās especially proud of in retrospect, but she excelled.

8. MC games
Jynrahd is a dab hand at card games. His poker face has been described as "like a particularly taciturn boulder."
He also enjoys chess; being a soldier, battle tactics come naturally to him and he revels in the chance to use that skill without it costing lives.
Some, yes. If you count jousting. And then, technically professionally.
In Fateweaver, MC Zelora actually played varsity paddlepod at the University of Pittshelm.
She was a top-tier midfielder & could have gone professional had she not suffered an injury due to a dirty play in the championship match her final year.
