Lydd on Sea VC15, another mild night by the sea, and the general upturn in numbers over the last few mild nights resulted in 127 of 26, though nothing outstanding has been trapped recently, but this Yellow Tail decided to pose for me.

I made a last-minute decision to put the trap out under an umbrella in last night’s rain and balmy temperature.

Turned up the second ever White-point for the garden…

Another Bordered Straw, or perhaps even the same moth, turned up to the lamp in the back garden this evening. So a quick photoshoot before releasing it out front

Black Rustic (Aporophyla nigra) - North Antrim - September 2026. One of the more classy looking moths of autumn. Once considered very scarce up here, not now #moths #mothsmatter #teammoth #gcampbellphoto @ulsterwildlife.bsky.social @savebutterflies.bsky.social @europebutterfly.bsky.social

Spot the moth 🫥

Meet our 'Wonder of the Day', the Merveille du Jour (Dichonia aprilina)!

Its pale green colouring and black markings allow it to blend in perfectly with lichens and mosses.
