I dunno what a siamese hell liger is, but someone said Liger and I heard Liger Zero (mashed up with rx-78), I think that counts as a bit of an exemplar (everyone loves grandpa gundam)

#MechTober 8 - Wolf’s Dragoons

For this one, I’ll recommend Redemption Rites by Jason Schmetzer which follows the Dragoons after the battle of Terra where they assisted and then were betrayed by Alaric Ward. For Wolf’s Dragoons, it is a time for both rebuilding and revenge.

Two Urbie enter, one Urbie leave. Welcome to the Thunderdome on Solaris 7! @battletech.bsky.social

Day 8 of #Mechtober is Wolf's Dragoons. While I may take Wayne Waco's side on them, I can't argue with how influential they are in the setting. #Battletech #Miniaturepainting

#Mechtober Day 8 is one I’m excited for! My favorite Battletech story is Wolves on the Border which was my intro to Wolf’s Dragoons.

I love the crew & how they operate.
I really respect Colonel Jamie Wolf. His friendship with Minobu is great to experience. Revisiting the story lately has been fun!

10/8 - Wolf's Dragoons!
Finally a unit i have painted! Probably quickest and one of the most fun to paint, as i skip my least favorite tedious step (gray/metallic on joints & etc.) and get right to fun detail work, plus so many Dragoon mechs/variants feel at home in this force

D8 of #Mechtober exploring more kind of pencil this one is 2 mm lead mechanical pencil need to add gring fot my fat finger

#Mechtober day 8 is Wolfs Dragoons. While the story suggests Clan Wolf manipulated them on Terra, they really payed the piper for abandoning the Kell Hounds and Wolf-in-Exile to Malvina Hazen. Now they are on a quest to rebuild, but to what end..?

#mechtober 8 - Wolf's Dragoons.
The Dragoons are one of the few Wolf associations I like. I like how they broke away, but then got burned in the battle of terra. Their history, especially with the Combine, has some great stories.

Elite House Units
I haven't written about many, nor have I painted up very many elite units. I guess scrubs make better POVs. :)
But, I did write about the Davion Heavy Guards once.
One of my faves, and I got to talk about it on @ofmechsandmen.bsky.social

08/31 #mechtober - my favorite Merc Company ❤️ and Charette's first book, Wolves at the Border, is my current re-read - though admittedly I never owned it when I was younger. Love how their plot developed and the newest novels are absolutely great (also as audio book, a good one!) #battletech

#mechtober day 7

Day Seven of #mechtober #battletech and the wail of bagpipes announces the approach of the Northwind Highlanders. Served the Confederation longer than the MAC yet not considered Capellan due to the fictions early Fourth Succession War focus. Totem 'Mech is much beloved.

Today’s #Mechtober is about the Northwind Highlanders, and all I can think off is the late Demo Team XO Craig Gulledge. A good man in the Loud MacLeod. My ME5 campaign is named for him, and I painted this higlander for him… though it has a pink paw on it’s ankle too

Ace needed a bruiser!

First 8

Next day of #mechtober is northwind highlanders day ! They are among my favorite , specifically Tara Campbell and the highlanders in the proving grounds trilogy . They are one of my go to units when I need motivation and I’m working on an Anna versus Tara diorama

#MechTober 7 - Northwind Highlanders

The Northwind Highlanders are the only one of the MechTober commands that I’ve painted, so here are some of my Highlanders.

#Mechtober day 7 is for the Northwind Highlanders mercenary company. Here is a lance I painted up, first time ever doing a tartan pattern and it was a lot of fun. #Miniaturepainting #Nerdlings
