This is the Alexis MacAllister Liverpool fans want to see.

Dogged in defence, neat in midfield and clinical in the final third.

GOAL! MAC ALLISTER! That's a rocket from the Argentine! Ngumoha does well to beat his man only to see his shot blocked. It's half-cleared to Mac Allister, who rifles it home first-time from the edge of the box.

Something tells me he would like a new contract!

GIVE HIM A NRW CONTRACT !!! 😂 #LIVATM #COYR 🔴👊🏽🥳

That's an incredible strike from Mac Allister on the edge of the area after the ball breaks for him. If he wanted to make a point about not being given a new contract, that's one way to go about it!

Alexis MacAllister is back!! Not seen him do that in 2 seasons.

⚽ GOAL!

#LFC 2-1

MAC ALLISTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#UCL #LIVATM

Barcola should be scoring that.

Nice to see Liverpool playing well on the counter though.

CHANCE!

How did Barcola not score there!? Wirtz plays the winger through for a shot which he rolls just past Oblak's righthand post

#LFC #UCL #LIVATM

CHANCE!

Mac Allister floats a cross in from a short corner between Szoboszlai and Wirtz for Araujo, whose header is just wide of the mark

Marcos Llorente probably owns Anfield but the ball by Julian Alvarez was a class! Very fun half of football! #LIVATM #UCL #ChampionsLeague

❌ No changes from the break
