Check out some immunofluorescent images from a @science.org
study. Heles et al. found that psilocybin (a psychoactive compound found in mushrooms) prevented the development of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in preclinical models. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/... 🧪

We get to work with so many cool cell models:

Primary, immortalized, transformed...
Brain, lung, liver...
Human, mouse, reptile...

But HEK...

...293Ts can be pretty cool too! 😉

Purslanes open during the day, usually after I leave home and close before I get home 🙄
It would be great if I can make it home in time today 😊

Question: How long can a #cytoneme get?
Answer: Looooooong.

It's the glue that holds us together, but it looks like a pair of angel wings to me. 👼

This beautiful meshwork of extracellular matrix surrounds the developing tissues of a quail embryo, helping guide cells as they build the body.

Here is the full clip of an embryonic myeloid cell transiting from inside to outside of an explant. It's one of my most favorite clips. Note how the nucleus 🔵 is squeezed right at the tissue boundary, and the myosin signal 🔴 goes from rearward to randomly distributed. How cool? #FluorescenceFriday
