Chair shopping is spec soup. Mesh or foam, 2D or 4D armrests, seat depth, gas cylinder class, and nobody tells you which of those you will ever touch. What to check, in order, and what to ignore.

Most WFH setups ignore the monitor height. Your eyes should hit the top third of the screen. A $30 monitor arm beats a $500 chair for neck pain. I switched last month—headaches gone. #WFH #Ergonomics

Most people think a standing desk fixes back pain. It doesn't—sitting 8h straight is the real culprit. I switch every 45 min using a cheap timer. Balance beats position. If you're rebuilding your setup, ergonomic gear (like a monitor arm) helps, but schedule matters more. #WFH #ergonomics

I always have a left-hand and right-hand mouse, because I have lots of wrist and elbow pain. This weekend the left mouse finally died, and the new one will get here Wednesdayish. I don't mean to mope, but WOW I MISS MY LH MOUSE. #rsi #ergonomics #boring #selfabsorbedtwaddle edit: noooo I checked […]

Find the lumbar bulge in your chair and set it at belt height, not mid back. Most people leave it parked too high, where it pushes the ribs forward and leaves the lower back doing the work anyway. Thirty seconds, no money.

Set it up in this order: chair first, then desk height to your elbows, then monitor to your eyes. Most people start with the monitor and spend the next year compensating with everything else. Order matters more than gear. #ergonomics #homeoffice

Most people set their monitor too low. Screen height should be at or slightly below eye level—otherwise you crane your neck all day. That alone causes most WFH neck pain. A cheap monitor arm fixes it. My $40 arm did more than my $300 chair. #WFH #ergonomics
