🔴 Models suggest it could maintain major hurricane intensity up until landfall tonight.
🔴 Official forecast keeps it Major just offshore the W Panhandle this evening

Apparently the ECMWF likes the HRRR inland winds solutions too, so I guess I have to take that more seriously.

That's gusts over 60mph around Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, and Montgomery Alabama at 5am.

That will be some power outages.

#Isaias will bring a tornado risk will begin late this afternoon and continue tonight in coastal areas of Alabama, the Florida Panhandle, and far southwest Georgia. The tornado threat will continue Saturday across parts of eastern Alabama, the Florida Panhandle, Georgia, and the Carolinas.

Tornado risk related to Hurricane Isaias will increase this afternoon into Saturday Bullet Points:Overview: The risk for tornadoes is expected to develop this afternoon into Saturday, mainly across parts of the central and eastern Gulf Coast region and adjacent portions of the Southeast. Timing: Given the latest NHC Isaias track forecast, tornado potential will increase across the Florida Panhandle this afternoon. This risk will continue spreading northward across parts of eastern Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina into Saturday. Uncertainty: The magnitude and timing of the tornado risk will depend on the track and intensity of Isaias. Refer to NHC forecasts for more information regarding Isaias and SPC for the latest information on the related tornado threat. Safety Actions: Be prepared to take action if watches and warnings are issued for your area.
